Orange Beef
You typically find Orange Beef super crispy due to its cornstarch or flour coating. The sauce tends to also be loaded with sugar. Not to mention, some pieces can also get too chewy. Give ours a try and use lighter, but still quality ingredients like a filet tips. Let's make this a staple beef dish at home.
- General Wu
Ingredients
1/2 pound of flank or filet steak
1 cup of WUJU's General Wu's Sauce
2 tablespoons of water
1 tablespoon of soy sauce
1 tangerine
1 green onion
1/2 cup oil, plus 1 tablespoon oil
Instructions
- Slice steak against the grain into 1/4 - 1/2 inches a piece
- Use a peeler on the skin of the tangerine and peel zesty strips
- Heat oil up in a hot pan for about a minute, then put in half cup of oil
- Fry beef for about a minute on each side
- Remove beef from heat and clean out pan or wok
- Heat up the pan again and add in 1 tablespoon of oil
- Add green onion and zesty tangerine peels in and let it simmer for 30 seconds
- Add in cup of General Wu's sauce
- Lastly, add in beef to cook and finish cooking it through and in the sauce for about 2 minutes
